The PADI Open Water Diver Course

The World's most popular diver training course provides you with all the skills required to dive safely and competently worldwide. The course is taught in a fun and friendly manner by professional and internationally recognised PADI instructors and uses the most up to date training techniques, with a full range of schedules and options to suit everyone, from a part time five week course to an intensive five day course.

For those who want to become a qualified diver and perhaps don't have the time there is also the PADI Scuba Diver Course, essentially half a PADI Open Water Diver course. As a PADI Scuba Diver you will be qualified to dive throughout the world supervised by a PADI professional.

As a PADI Open Water Diver, you will be qualified to dive anywhere in the World to a maximum depth of 18m (younger age groups have various depth restrictions). You will also be eligible to experience many different areas of diving through the PADI Adventures in diving programme, PADI Specialities or the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course.

The PADI Open Water Diver and the PADI Scuba Diver course are open to all ages from 10 upwards; as long as you are reasonably fit, you can start today!

All of our PADI Open Water Diver course options include all materials and equipment and if you sign up for the PADI Open Water Diver course with Plymouth Diving Centre you will also receive a voucher book with over £200 worth of vouchers including free membership of the Centre, free and half priced boat dives, free kit hire and discounted equipment and course deals!

Become a PADI Open Water Diver:

Prerequisite Qualifications: None/Uncertified

Minimum Age: 10 years and upwards, under 15s will earn the PADI Junior Open Water Diver certification.

Schedule Options:

The Open Water Diver course can be completed in several ways. These include: 

PADI Open Water Diver Part Time option: Our most popular option! Complete the course over evenings and weekends. Exact schedule will be dependent on diver availability, but can be expected to take up to 5 weeks
PADI Open Water Diver Intensive Course: A full time course over 4 - 5 days. Normally run during school holidays, but please contact us for dates. 
PADI Open Water Diver Customised Course: Build the course to suit your schedule! Price will vary dependent on the timetable, but starts from £599.

PADI Open Water upgrade from SCUBA Diver: If you have previously received your SCUBA Diver Qualification, you can upgrade to Open Water Diver with us!

PADI Open Water Referral: If you are going on holiday and would like to complete the theory and the pool modules of the course, then finish off the sea dives whilst on holiday, why not take the referral course?

PADI Open Water Completion: For those who managed to complete the first modules of the Open Water course but never managed to squeeze the sea dives in, come and finish off with us, and receive your qualification!
